Operation method and measurement results of compact laser distance meter for inspecting forgings

The compact laser distance meter is a new type of laser measurer. It is not only small in size and light in weight, but also uses digital phase pulse broadening and subdivision technology to achieve millimeter-level accuracy without a cooperative target. The distance measurement has exceeded 100m, and the distance can be directly displayed quickly and accurately.

When the compact laser distance meter is working, it emits a thin laser beam to the target, and the photoelectric element receives the laser beam reflected by the target. The timer measures the time from the emission to the reception of the laser beam, and calculates the distance from the observer to the target.

Application of compact laser distance meter in forging inspection.

Operation method.

1. First, the compact laser distance meter is inspected by the drilling tool finishing inspection station. The workpiece is a drilling tool and a core rod with a length of 9~20m and φ127~φ350mm.

2. After the end face of the compact laser distance meter is flattened with the workpiece surface, turn on the laser distance meter. Determine the reference point (the laser meter can measure the distance from 2 different measurement reference points, namely the front reference and the back.

3. Press the on/off key and select the measurement unit (press the minus key to select the measurement unit, displaying 4 modes such as m. mm .ft. in., generally select mm).

4. Press the Measure key, and an active dotted line will immediately appear on the display, indicating that the aiming mode has been entered. The compact laser distance meter emits a red beam. At the other end of the workpiece, a person uses a flat light shield to flatten the workpiece. The beam hits the light shield, and the Measure key is pressed. The measurement result is immediately displayed on the screen. Generally, if the measurement is wrong, you can press the Clear key to re-measure.

Measurement results.

Within a month, tens of thousands of drill piers, core rods and precision forgings were inspected with a compact laser distance meter. Compared with the measurement results of the steel tape measure, the deviation is within 1 mm. The inspection time is shortened to within a few seconds, not limited by the site, and the safety is greatly improved. The number of inspectors has been reduced from 3 to 2. It can be said that using a compact laser distance meter to detect long parts can greatly improve the detection efficiency and is very convenient to use.
